Poiema Films is all about creating Beauty out of the Ordinary.

We want to spark the imagination, ignite the senses, and impassion the desire for truth. We want to speak to the unspoken mess inside our hearts and offer a Hope that goes Beyond the darkness.

“Poiema” is a Greek word that means “work,” “workmanship,” or perhaps “work of art.” It sounds very much like the English word Poem.

Just as God — the One Who can fully Satisfy our souls — created us, so we create. We are God’s Works of Art. So we make Art to glorify Him and hopefully impact the world for the better.

About Me

LARISSA LOEFFLER

WRITER/DIRECTOR & ACTOR — FOUNDER OF POIEMA FILMS

With a Bachelor of Science in Cinema Production, Larissa has a passion for creating beautiful, authentic, and entertaining stories that touch hearts and fill the senses.

She has run the gamut of Film Production Roles. Larissa started her career pursuing Gaffing on the track to DP. She worked Grip, Electric, and Gaffer on Short Films and Features. She’s also worked multiple films in the Camera Department. She switched her career goals to Acting and has had roles in Commercials, Short Films, Features, and even a few Voice Over opportunities. Currently she works primarily as a Set Dresser. She has been working full time within Art Departments/Set Dec on TV shows, Shorts, and Features.

Larissa has been a writer and creative since childhood. Within the last few years she renewed her vigor for writing and also began script writing. She has written many shorts and is working as a Co-Writer for a TV Show and a Fantasy Feature. You can hear her laughing at her own jokes and trying out faces that she is trying to depict.

Larissa is an Award Winning Director for her Short Documentary “Alex” (a story about a young female Bounty Hunter) and the 48hr Competition Short Film “Fool’s Gold.” You can watch them on her Youtube channel (links on the titles).
